I am a mother and wife of six children that lived a very healthy active life until everything changed. An ectopic pregnancy would send me spiraling for nearly two years. A week after emergency surgery for internal bleeding I was found to have a pulmonary embolism. After having allergic reactions to the newer coagulant medications, I ended up on Lovonox and Warfarin. After treatment wrapped, I felt terrible, low energy, and had gained weight. Over the next year I would struggle with chronic bronchitis, menstrual issues, CVI (chronic valve insufficiency - I had 3 operation on my leg), skin cancer, rapid onset rheumatoid arthritis, and an ocular migraine that would be the catalyst to reset my health. After the ocular migraine I was told to rest, something that I am admittedly bad at, I came across a documentary called "What the Health". After watching that I was shocked at what I was hearing, a narrative quite in opposition to the modern medicine and nutrition I had come to know, and a deep dive into research became my passion. I was able to heal my excruciating joint pain, take care of all my menstrual problems, found a renewed energy, and mental clarity that I didn't even know was possible all through a plant-based diet. I made it my mission to help as many people as I can renew their health through nutrition when typical American medical intervention is not working.
I initially began with secondary education after high school and went into a variety of directions to include interior design, law, and business. I clearly could not decide what I wanted to be when I "grew up". I met my husband when I was just 20 and when we had our first son, I knew I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. I was fortunate to be able to pour into my family for the last 20 years. I became unwell when I was 33 and by the time I was 36 I was enrolling myself back into college to pursue wellness not only for myself and my family but so that I could serve others through nutrition. I went to Purdue University to pursue my undergraduate and graduated with my Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition, Summa Cum Laude. While I was there, I also sought certification from Cornell University in Plant-Based Nutrition. I am currently at Sonoran University of Health Sciences studying for my MSCN, Master's of Science in Clinical Nutrition. I am a part of the NANP, Nutrition Association of Nutrition Professionals as well as a member of the ANA, American Nutrition Association. I absolutely love learning; I have been educating our children at home for the past 15 years and education is my passion.
My goal is to serve my community and as many people as possible. After graduation from Sonoran, I plan to sit for the CNS exam so that I may be board certified. I am currently helping people in a health consulting, education, and coaching capacity to stay within regulation. In 2023 I was in a terrible car accident and was hit broadside on my driver side at over 45 mph causing intense spine pain. Upon a cat scan at the ER, an incidental finding of a brain aneurysm on my internal carotid artery was found. After 5 months of neurologists planning a "wait and watch" protocol I transferred to an amazing neurosurgeon that proceeded to conduct a cranial angiogram and found that the brain aneurysm was actually an infundibulum. What a relief that was! I had taken a break from school during that time and during that period of reflection, I solidified what I wanted to do and that was to work really hard to qualify myself to help others struggling with their health. I have certainly dealt with my fair share, and I understand the struggles, both physically and mentally. I hope to come along you on your journey!
